Frequently asked questions

How do I merge two SRT files into one?
Load the first and second .srt files above, choose how the second file should be timed, and hit merge. You get a single SRT with all cues renumbered from 1, downloaded instantly.
My movie is split into two parts (CD1/CD2). How do I combine the subtitles?
Use the default “Start after the first file ends” mode. The second file’s timestamps are shifted so they continue where part one stops — ideal for joined videos.
Can I keep the original timestamps of both files?
Yes. Choose “Keep original timestamps” — useful when the second file already uses the combined video’s timing, for example bilingual tracks.
Can I shift the second file by a custom amount?
Yes. Pick “Shift by a custom offset” and enter the offset in seconds (e.g. 3600 to push everything one hour later). Decimals are supported for millisecond precision.
Are the cue numbers fixed automatically?
Yes. The merged file is renumbered sequentially from 1, so players that are strict about SRT numbering accept it without complaints.
Are my subtitle files uploaded?
No. The merge runs entirely in your browser — both files stay on your device, and the tool is free with no limits.
